hamble kahle...

some photos are incredible, full of the hidden treasures...africa is full of hidden treasures...i realised that i haven't actually written much about the people, country, my work...apologies...guess these 3 months have been so intensive, that the time, to make analytical writings, hasn't been exsistant at all...it's my last day at work today, the AGM meeting and Conference went well, the deputy minister of agriculture and science mentioned Estonia twice in his speech:) mhhh...i did a lot of promotion:) i'll be packing my things tonight and fly to jo'burg tomorrow, from there to swaziland, kruger national park and in the beginning of november is my flight back to Europe...mhhh...it's fast now...
anyway, to make it up to you, i will just add here some things that has amazed me and natascha during our stay, so stay tuned!

SABC
– well, you all know how we became TV stars in South Africa ah? It’s just one of those days you are wandering around Nieuwoudtville, in an aloe -“forest”, basically alone, thinking your thoughts, appreciating the quietness and suddenly the TV is looking for you to make an interview with your for the morning show…waw, I mean, this is one of the reasons we came here, right?

Dobbelarskoop
- Hendrik’s farm is the place that showed us again how we value the simplicity of being. The days we spent there will always stay with us as an example of coping without electricity, tap water, cell-phone connection, European standard-toilet:) and it was marvelous!

The weather
what is it? – We imagined Africa (stereotypes, we know!) to be a warm place…hahh…guess again…

Minibuses
– waaw, R3.50 from Obs to town, quick, crowded, with the messages “love them all but trust no one”…we’ll try that!

Is fair trade really fair? Question
– mhmmm, after exploring the Fair Trade world here and talking to many people, we finally end up with the question to what we don’t know the answer anymore…thanks for that ah?

Magwinya
– uhhhh, fat food is one of the key-words here I suppose, but nothing to do, the magwinyas you get from Philippi or Khayelitsha or Nyanga are so delicious…mmmm...

Abalimi gardens
– we did take part of some other projects while being here and working with mamas in these gardens is a privilege itself…

Noluthando crèche
– another experience, another life…mhmm…children are cute anyway, wherever you go…

Change-the-language nation
– hello, how are you, I’m fine and you and continue in Afrikaans…molo, kunjani…continue in English…it’s lovely and you are lucky to hear these mixed conversation every day…it’s really fantastic and gives a bit of sparkle in your day…

EMG
– a bunch of lovely inspiring people...

kohtumise ootuses, Annika
